Recently purchased a home and it came with a 750?? gal Koi pond.
Did not know pond was with property until the snow melted in March Have no clue how to take care of the koi fish.

We have about 13 total Koi about 3-4 inches each.
We have a filter, and a pump, and just purchased tubing to re-do the 4 ft long waterfall.
Any extra PVC lining would be great because I was told the current waterfall (not in use) is leaky.
Advise is preferred because our water is all algae-like.
I have been using the algae-be-gone from wal mart, but it doesn’t seem to be clearing anything up.
I was told I need to purchase algae eaters, but I’m not sure if a little algae eater would make a difference.
We have a lot of bamboo shoots growing, probably covering 30-40 percent of the pond.
Will I hurt the fish if I remove some bamboo? Would that help with the algae problem? Can I put the pond bamboo in my house in a flower pot? The PH test strips say everything is normal and ok.
I have limited finances, so if you have old, unused, working pond stuff you would like to donate (pond skimmer, pvc lining, tubing, working pumps, working filters, koi that need a new home, pond plants that need a new home, big algae eaters that need a new home etc.
.
.) then I would be more than appreciative.
I definitely need a pond skimmer.
.
.lowes had one for $22 That’s about $20 more than I can spend

Thanks
Rachael
