We simply bought our house and it has a wholesome and beautiful pond/waterfall, simply after the winter it isnt beautifulanymore. The preceding owners left it with leaves and smelly water, what make we make to do it good again? We dont need to simply pump out the water because it stinks, some solutions?

why the smell is because water is stagnant. first want to clear any leaves and remove any algea was formed. keep the water moving, it is likely that the waterfall was intended for. if not gonna have no fish or plants, you can add some chemacals that will clear up. Good luck and see a local supply of garden ideas water garden. some of your concerns can be answered there.

This smell is decomposition. Try to avoid using chemicals! If you really need to clean it. Take one of these things cleaner pool in a pole, and start scooping. It's unpleasant, stinky job. If you really want to be friendly to earth, take the gunk you've won and converted under the soil in your garden. Plants will be estatic about this decision in the summer. Make sure your filter is clean, and then started pumping. You should clean the filter a lot. And this is only the beginning! :) If you have algae, which is a completely different battle, but I just let the water until it stops smelling funky, because it actually feeds on the stuff that makes water smell funky. First, to get a nice smell, then work to get it to look nice. Try hanging Rec. lakes (search it) – that you will love your pond in no time.

are right, it should be clean. A healthy lake is move water, plants and living things in it. first really clean out the pond, although this is a really big pond you may want to hire someone to do, if anything you can do yourself, put some clothes you do not mind destroying, and dig in. You may need to adjust the water filter or pump used. It may not be big enough for lake use. I recommend the position in some plants and some fish. Also we recommend you take a bunch of snails, the snails actually doing a great job of cleaning. In the future, you need to keep the leaves from the creation of the lake. light off can help, and trimming back some trees. You have to keep taking care of the lake. A lake is a beautiful thing when everything works right. It is not that much work but can not be ignored. Check with local shops landscape will have some of the things you need. If the plan to release fish, you want to make sure you do not use anything that will harm the long term.

I am sorry but I must clean out the dirty water and leaves. when it is empty, you will need to scrub out using only water. Get a good filter system and well pump that is large enough to move the water at a good pace. Cataract should be cleaned much if any icky stuff is growing too. fill the lake back up and let it move in a few days before you decide to put any fish in this case too. If there are trees near the lake trim them back so the leaves do not fall into the lake. If you regularly use a very skimmer net to remove leaves and other debris. Good luck and enjoy !!!!!!!!!
